Went last night to a party held there. It was an absolute blast, amazing bar service. Line dancing occurring, while I wasnt able to achieve much of the moves, everyone had a blast learning it. Great place, awesome people
Decided completely sporadically to stop in today to check out Nickelbrook. Had no idea what to expect when walking in the doors. Inside is a warm and inviting space with plenty of tables or room at the bar. Huge selection of beer to try, I opted for a flight which was hand selected by the wonderful barkeep after she asked me a few questions about what I like to drink. My samplers ranged from a light a fruity IPA to a nice deep flavored amber. All were great choices. Highly recommend dropping in here for a pint or two sometime.
Absolutely love this brewer. I like everything I’ve tried so far and plan to come back many times!! Local for me but worth the trip for anyone in the GTA looking for a fantastic beer experience.
A club I am part of rented out Nickel Brook’s space to host a fundraiser event. From the very beginning of the process, Nickel Brook was very professional, flexible, accommodating and picked up the phone whenever we called to discuss anything. They were very relaxed yet organized with anything we wanted to do. Staff were awesome during our event. Our guests had a great time, quick service, great food and beer, and an all around fantastic experience. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a small fundraiser or event (birthday party, stag and doe, etc) and will definitely be back just to visit the awesome tap room. Thanks Nickel Brook for being an amazing fixture in the community with fantastic service and beer!
Purchased a drink here during music bingo, along with a tip, and had it taken away from me after opening it. Wasn’t informed we weren’t allowed to drink anything we paid for that came out of the fridge. I understand it’s a bar, but the rules were not made clear and could have been explained to us before purchasing drinks. Later in the night the same bartender that took my drink away grabbed a different drink from the fridge, opened it, and served it to someone. Not sure why she couldn’t have poured out the drink I paid for into a glass for me. It ruined the vibe of the whole night, was embarrassing, and put me in a pretty bad mood. We were also told at the end that there was a drink minimum if we wanted to sit at the table, but after what occurred earlier in the night none of us wanted to buy another drink. There was no resolution to the fact that I paid for a drink - no refund, no compensation, nothing. To be honest we all felt singled out since we are pretty young and could feel hostility coming from her as well. Overall the experience sucked and was completely unfair.
I recently purchased Nickel Brook's Winter Chill Pack from my local LCBO for a friend. The case was supposed to have six cans of various types of beer but when I arrived at my friends and we opened the pack, there was only five. I wrote to Nickel Brook and within a couple of hours they wrote back asking for my address saying something would be delivered to me in the mail. With in a couple of days, a package containing four cans of the missing beer arrived at my place free of charge! Not only does Nickle Brook have great beer but great customer service as well! I will go out of my way to look for their products when at LCBOs/Beer Stores!
Great place, great service, and one of the greatest makers of funky beers. The sours that come out of here are top shelf. Edit: The beers keep getting better and so do the people that work there. Phenomenal service everytime I'm in there and very knowledgeable too!
