Discovered this gem of a comic book store. Checked out the massive selections and collections from current to recent to collector's editions from decades ago. Looked for something that would capture the interest of my 11 year old grandson (& his Dad!). He is drawn more to graphic novels than solid print books, so why not a great comic book! Spoke with the owner, as interesting as the collections themselves! Selected "Venom", a hit with grandson (eyebrows raised) who said, "Dad and I should go there, soon!" Delightful discovery in Aldershot, "Aardvark Comics" (great name!).
I’ve followed this owner from the days that he was at a flea market to when he was in the back of used book store called The Book Nook. Great selection of back issues. I just wish this store was around when I was growing up in Aldershot.
Looks like a great selection of books unfortunately a lot of them covered by boxes or other books. Just so difficult to look for anything. Very friendly.
Owner goes way back in the Toronto comics scene. Great conversations. Has a very impressive catalog with minimum condition requirements. What a great experience. Very nostalgic.
Called the store to see if they had what I wanted, they said yes I get there and they didn't have it. Waisted my time it would of taken 30 seconds to confirm. Then I tried to salvage my time and make an offer on 60 comics priced between 3-5 dollars, he said no, without any consideration for my time he waisted. Whatever money he thought he was going to lose on 5 dollar comic he would of gained on a 3 dollar comic.. complete waist of my time without any care about his bad service.
Prices are a joke. The most expensive comic book store ive been to in the gta. I stop in from time to time when im around the area. The same books are still there for years on end because of his ridiculous prices. I expect a going out of business sale coming soon.
very rude customer service...prices are waaay to high...i would not suggest this place unless you are willing to pay 4 times as much as you would expect for raw back issues...not kidding.
