We worked with Marcon on a large addition on our home. They were very helpful throughout the whole process and managed our expectations and concerns promptly and with ease. They were truly committed to our satisfaction and were thrilled with the final results.
I had 3 quotes and Marcon was the most expensive one but I chose them because of their reputation, my project was supposed to be finished in 3 months but it took 11 months and for long time my family lived in trouble because of their dishonesty and unprofessionalism. When they did floor they removed all plywood’s which was there when the builder had built my house and they installed engineer woods without subfloor and immediately other jobs such as kitchen cabinet, island, powder room ceramic, closet were installed on the floor without subfloor, they also installed treads and risers, we moved back to the main floor and then I found that everywhere on the floor is squeaky and all stairs were so noisy. I complained and they tried to convince me this is normal, so I argued with the owner of Marcon and floor company, they came back 3-4 times to repair the floor and stairs and every time took at least one month and finally one person in floor company revealed that floor is squeaky because there is no subfloor and they accepted they redo the floor, since they had installed kitchen cabinet, Island and powder room ceramic they had to cut OSB and replace it with plywood without touching under kitchen cabinet, closet and powder room, so again my family moved to let them redo the floor, after they redo the floor still some part of my floor is noisy and squeaky much more than before renovation. I had so much argue with the Marcon owner about stairs and asked them to redo the stairs but he tried to prove it that the problem is my stair case and they did not do any mistake, I had noticed that the guys who did the stairs were not professional and just came to my house made jokes, laughing and using F words in front of my 6 years old daughter and my wife. Finally I threatened them to take them to the court unless one reputable stair company redo my stairs so after a lot of argue and fight The owner invite a reputable stair company to convince me that my stairs are normal and the squeak and noise come from my stair case and they told me if we redo your stairs there is no guarantee to make it better. Finally I told them they have to redo the stairs and they did. When reputable stair company came to my house they told me they knew that the stairs were installed wrongly. Now my stair has zero noise. (Now you understand how much they are dishonest). This project took 11 months because they were dishonest and nonprofessional. I do not recommend them to anyone particularly people who are second language and women because they believe that we are stupid.
We contacted Mark 2011 to explore the idea and cost of an addition. I should say he was prompt, attended a few meetings, with drawing and changes. As it sounded might take 4-6 mths we became apprehensive regarding timing and cost for sure - so we elected to posponed and take care of other projects that were more priorities at that time. As we are now ready to go ahead with the addition, we were advised to have a second and a third quote, which unfortunately we did and realised how generous Marcon was with his time and free drawing. Other out there, were not honest (I wish I can stay more than that), we contacted one who is claiming a big company too, and we knew a family member, we made the assumption he will be honest!! we were upfront with the budget that we can afford, he confidently stated of course seems very reasonable, so we went ahead to get him to do drawing, which he charged $1500 to be deducted when going ahead with the project and since we were reday to go, we paid, he came up with a plan that can reflect one thing: he was not listening, and the budget was 2 times (which he knew out of zone completely) - now we realize that he makes his little lazy cash by tricking clients, coming up with double the budget so you dont go ahead with, kill your dream, but he secured his $1500! so be careful with these ones around (presumed to be big name by the way). This made us realise how honest and good customer service Mark was when he gave his time, drawing with no charge. We plan to contact him for our project. will keep you posted :-)
I had work done by Marcon last year and am continually floored and impressed every time I pull up to my house. They were wonderful throughout the whole process and were so professional! Let's face it, it's never easy going through a huge face lift and renovation but Marcon really helped put me and my family at ease. They were quick, clean, nice and the work was astonishing! I HIGHLY recommend Marcon for renovations!! Thanks guys for all the hard work!!
Marcon Construction were amazing. They got my project done 100% to the budget that was quoted, 100% on time, and with no little quibbles or problems at all. Every single one of the trades Marcon used was exemplary in their detail and work. I have had many people work on my home and these guys are the best.
