So nice to find a charming independent bookstore still operating in Burlington. Varied selection (plenty of literature) and very friendly, enthusiastic owner happy to have conversations about books
This is an enjoyable place to rummage. It is a labor of love, and our community is enriched by the dedication Judy has to the immense world of books with their limitless input to culture and knowledge. Scored two great P. Berton books, "Vimy," and, "Marching as to War." Out of print books are present (of course), and so satisfying to discover. This is one of three used-books stores in Burlington I like to frequent, but sadly, the Book Nook is gone. J, Andrew says "hello."
I'm from Mississauga and came out here yesterday (Saturday) to experience this bookstore and was really impressed at classic literature selection which I'm more partial to - reminded me of the now obsolete and long foregone old Toronto used bookstores - very nostalgic experience - as were the prices, incredibly cheap, walked out with 5 out of print books for 10 Canadian dollars, really did feel like the 90s again. So content thank you
Judy and her store are amazing, you walk in there and you can just tell how much she loves working there. She’s so incredibly kind and generous, gotta be the best bookstore in all the world. ❤️?
Honestly both the store and judy - the owner - feel like they're straight out of a children's film. It's a quaint little bookstore and there's a charm to the place; it is filled to the brim with books and judy likes to talk (she's great to speak to) and to try and help you find something you'd like. Would suggest bringing in old books that you may want to get rid of for the potential of them finding a new home; and you may get a little bit of store credit in return to go towards some new books of your own!
A wonderful little book shop. Great breadth and variation of books, including a sizable collection of vintage volumes. Unique and rare finds. Staff very friendly and helpful. Store is tight and a bit tricky to navigate with shelves closely set and stacks of books about the floor. Cash only!
Awesome spot! The placed is packed with all sort of books, very well categorized. I love going through old books, and I got more than 6 books there. The owner helped me find what I was looking for. She was a very interesting person and I enjoyed talking to her. I spent almost an entire afternoon there. She gave me great book suggestions. It's a great place to spend an afternoon picking books and relaxing. Don't feel shy about asking questions. The owner is very helpful and knowledable. The store also sells online, and I'll be for sure checking that out.
