Always enjoy their ice-cream while strolling through the Mapleview mall. Chocolate is my favorite flavor ice-cream.... after all they are a Chocolatier ?

I took my kids to Purdy's at Mapleview Mall for a summer treat, but we ended up walking away completely turned off. We waited in line for quite a while, and during that time, I noticed a major hygiene issue. Staff were scooping ice cream cones and only partially wrapping the cone with a tissue — so low that their bare fingers were actually touching the cone itself. The same fingers were also being used to tap on the POS system, then handle store chocolate boxes for other customers, and then go right back to handling cones — no gloves, no handwashing in between. It was really hard to watch, and honestly, it felt unhygienic and careless, especially when you're serving food. I didn’t feel comfortable letting my kids eat from there, so we left without buying anything. Really disappointing experience. We definitely won’t be returning.

Jane is disgusting and rude. She scooped ice cream that she dropped from a previous customer that was laying in crumbs from the top of the freezer, than put it in the thing of ice cream and onto my daughters cone. When confronted about it- she acted like she didn't do nothing and like she couldn't see the brown specs all over the top... she than casually got a paper towel and tried to wipe it up before anyone else came to see what I was talking about. ... she don't see it but quickly wiped it up. She than tried to saybit was just water qfter moment earlier aaying anything there is ice cream related! When I told her she's lying that she can see it that's why she wiped it up... she tried to tell me oh I'm not going to tolerate you talking to me like that... like I'm the one who is in the wrong! I am a frequent shopper here- hot topic and everything know me- this is the second time Jane has been rude with me now! Purdy s has lost my business until Jane is gone. The Indian guy who was working w her stood there and laughed too instead of coming and seeing and telling her what she did was wrong! As a business owner- if my employee ever did something like that and talk to a customer who pointed out their nastiness the way she did.. they would be gone!

First, I have to mark some comparisons. Purdy is good but walkers is better as I do prefer a local chocolate experience. Purdy's Chocolates strikes a delightful balance, nestling comfortably between the widespread appeal of mass-produced chocolate and the bespoke charm of a local chocolatier. At their Burlington location, one can sense this harmonious blend the moment they step through the doors—a place where the chocolate-loving heart feels right at home.Their selection is commendable, offering a quality that surpasses many of its mass-market counterparts. Each piece is a testament to Purdy's commitment to a standard that has set them apart in the world of chocolate. It's the sort of place I find myself returning to, especially when coordinating fundraisers, knowing that their treats add a special touch that is both appreciated and expected. However, it's with a tinge of nostalgia that I note their offerings don't quite captivate my palate as they once did. While the change is subtle, the discerning chocolate enthusiast might sense a divergence from their former glory. Yet, this slight shift in the wind does not mar the overall experience dramatically. We continue to purchase from Purdy's, not just out of habit but because their chocolates still bring pleasure and serve as a reliable choice for our events. In summary, Purdy's of Burlington remains a solid pillar within its community, providing a product that is both reliably good and a step above the commonplace. Their chocolates are an easy recommendation for those seeking to support a business that feels both familiar and extraordinary. Whether for personal indulgence or public fundraising, Purdy's delivers a chocolate experience that is sure to be enjoyed by all who partake.

Might have delicious chocolate, never got the chance to purchase any. Staff is quick to discriminate if don’t show medical information to purchase chocolate.

Every kind of chocolate under the sun and the staff is even sweeter than the treats. They're always smiling and ready to scoop your fave flavor of ice cream. Great gift ideas there too for that hard to buy person.
