I went in November 2025 to get the cheese advent for myself, sister in law and two coworkers. I was very tempted to get other treats they had but I was on a budget. They had so many lovely things here it was worth the drive! Highly suggest visiting if you are looking for hard to find items. Happy to say we are all enjoying the cheese advent!
An absolute gem in Burlington! As soon as we walked into British Grocer we were greeted with the friendliest, most welcoming staff you could ask for – genuinely lovely people who make you feel right at home. My parents are originally from the UK and the moment they stepped inside their faces lit up; it was like being transported straight back to Britain. They spent ages wandering the aisles, pointing out childhood favourites and getting emotional over proper teas, biscuits, sweets, and treats they haven’t seen in years. For me, it’s pure nostalgia too – every visit brings back memories of trips “home” to the UK with family and friends. The selection is fantastic: everything from Cadbury chocolates, McVitie’s digestives, Heinz beans, proper crisps, Branston pickle, Yorkshire Gold, and so many imported goodies you just can’t find anywhere else locally. The pies, sausage rolls, and pasties in the freezer section are spot-on as well. If you’re British, have British roots, or simply love proper British food, this place is a must-visit. The staff truly make the experience even better – always happy to chat, help you find something, or recommend their favourites. Thank you, British Grocer, for keeping a little piece of the UK alive here in Burlington. We’ll be back very soon (probably far too often)!
really nice staff but every time I go here the crisps are always close to expiry and a bit stale sometimes the date rotation is like a week off but I understand importing products can be hard. same with the chocolate too
Good day, recently found your products at our local Sobeys store, (Parry Sound), what a treat to find your real English style sausage rolls and pies, had both the beef and pork, have tried other bakery sausage rolls, quite often greasy on the bottom, not the case with these, I must compliment the pastry, flaky, flaky, not too spicy, just right. What a find, and in our local grocery store. I read alot of your reviews and understand that everyone has an opinion, not sure how people could find the issues they found, for me some of the best I've ever had, keep up the good work, I will enjoying more, can't wait to try the Pasties, thanks to all at the British Grocery
Always a good variety of British food, Crisps, Chocolate, snacks etc. Sometimes when you have some cravings for food from bk home . . . This is the place to go!
Good range of British food and reasonable prices compared to other British stores. Chap who was working there wasn't too friendly and I didn't feel like my custom was of value to him. Visit Sunday 27 Sep (PM)
Very good shop....good pricing....pies and sausage rolls very good...black pudding and english breakfast sausage totally remind me of the UK...keep up the good work
