Worst customer service ever. Employees are standing, talking and passing time instead of doing the billing. They look ok if there is a big line up and customers waiting.
Glad we went to this location. Chris was great, he's a very friendly guy, and talked with my Uncle about beards and sports along with sharing useful info about skateboards with me. If you ever need to talk about anything with wheels, he's your guy!
The store is quite expansive, offering goods at reasonable prices. They offer a wide range of discounts. The service is top-notch and the staff is extremely amiable.
I want to give a specific shout-out to an Associate named Sean. After going to several Sport Chek's in person, and receiving less than ideal Customer Service on December 16, 2023, I called the Appleby Line store. I had the infinite pleasure of speaking to Sean. I explained that I was having difficulty locating an item, and I queried whether it was available in his store. He promptly identified it was not available in his store, saving me the 20km trip in heavy traffic, 9 days before Christmas. Without asking, he offered to try and locate the item for me by calling two stores that apparently had inventory. He said he wanted to ensure a visual was completed before i made unnecessary trips to the stores showing inventory. He explained there are often inaccuracies with inventory systems, often when items are showing in low quantities. Sean took my number, called the stores, and within 20 minutes he called me back with the much needed information, and good news that he had successfully located the item. Sean was polite, courteous, professional, helpful and provided an EXCEPTIONAL level of customer service. I am very grateful for the 'extra mile' Sean made yesterday. He restored my faith in humanity. Many Sport Chek Associates, with whom I interacted yesterday at other Sport Chek locations, could definitely learn something from Sean in their Customer Care delivery.
Went in looking for a travel backpack & Sean provided exceptional customer service, offering thoughtful and insightful information. Sean was very courteous & respectful, providing an excellent customer experience!
My husband and I went to the Appleby Sport Chek to buy a bicycle for my 8 year old son. He out grew his previous bike and we wanted to get him a nice bike to ride during the summer. The employee that assisted us was very friendly and helpful. They inspected the bike, checked the brakes, tire pressure etc. We purchased a bell and waterbottle holder which they installed for us too at no extra cost. We recently bought a bike for our daughter at Canadian Tire and even though their staff was equally friendly they did not offer this service. The Sport Chek manager even came over to assist and went to get us a selection of water bottles himself when we showed interest in purchasing same. We did also sign up for a Triangle Mastercard while we were there and that might be the reason for all the attention. But none-the-less I was very impressed and plan to purchase all my bikes there in the future. It is also worth it to say they have a 1 year bike warranty.
Would have been 5 stars if the two blond ladies at the cash register were as customer service focused as Alex who helped me find a new pair of shoes for my daughter. He was amazing, he asked what he could help us with as soon as he saw us! The ladies at the front counter made me feel uncomfortable with their attitude. Thank you Alex!
