I came into this store looking for help attaching straps to a watch. I didn’t even purchase the watch at the store, and had no intention of making a purchase. The wonderful woman in the store helped me without question. I appreciated it very much and this will be my new first stop for jewelry purchases in the future thanks to her kindness!
I recently purchased my 3mm plain gold wedding band from Arain. I knew exactly what I was looking for, no diamonds on it and with our wedding date engraved inside. Zeyna was working on the initial day that I went in. Right away she was trying to sell me on getting a band with diamonds and I found her to be a bit pushy when I knew I didn't want that. I was debating between the 2mm and the 3mm and she was helpful in sharing her opinion on recommending the 3mm. When it came to sizing though, she recommended that I get a bigger size than what I initially wanted and it didn't make much sense to me, but she was telling me she's been working in this business a long time and I should trust her. My engagement ring is a size 6 and she recommended I get my wedding band a 6.5. When I went to pick it up, I immediately was questioning my decision in going with Arain for my wedding band. She didn't even look up to greet me at the store and she handed me the ring (which was basically black) with torch marks all over it. I had to ask her to clean it. Then when I looked at the engraving inside, it was half way cut off. I have a 7 in my wedding date and it looked like a 1 because the top was not there. When I mentioned that to her, she used her magnifier and said "not it's fine, this is exactly what you asked for". I didn't need a magnifier to see that it was not fully there. I went back and forth with her for a while and she tried to advise me not to have it fixed because sometimes it messes up the engraving more. She was clearly not happy that I was complaining about the quality of the work, but this was terrible and honestly not acceptable. She took absolutely no accountability for the poor quality of the engraving and I was shocked. Instead she started blaming the engraver, but the situation could have been handled a lot better if she recognized that a half cut off engraving wasn't good enough. I didn't receive a call back when my ring was ready for pick up with the fix. I just decided to check in one day and then Marie was working. I had a completely different experience with her. She was warm, friendly, not pushy at all and right away took accountability for the mistake and apologized for the inconvenience. When I put the ring on she could also tell that it was far too big for me, I didn't even have to say anything. She said that there would be no problem resizing down without interrupting the engraving and I was grateful that she offered the option. When I went back to the store for a 4th time to pick up the ring, I made sure to go in when Marie was working and it was finally the right size and the engraving was legible. All in all, this is a great example of how the person who is working makes a big difference. My experience was so poor with Zeyna that if you go to Arain, ask for Marie. She will give you the service you deserve! Picking a wedding band shouldn't be stressful, and Zeyna only added to my stress. Thank you Marie for your kindness and great customer service!!
