Exceptional service and selection at this Benjamin Moore … been to other Benjamin Moore locations, this one is well run, professional and exceeds the Benjamin Moore standards! Last visit, the gentleman put sample on top of can (unlike other Benjamin Moore store in Burlington) and blew dry it so not wet, helped me out to car with items and was efficient in processing my needs and offered suggestions! Impressive … thanks!
If I could give negative stars for my review, I would, this guy Peter is a real piece of work. I entered the store looking for paint chip samples for several different projects but he was busy, barely tolerating a lovely older couple who were looking for a neutral white paint for their home. He was abrupt with them and made sure they bought something, a sample pot, before they left and once they did, he disappeared! This left me with a good 10 minutes looking for samples myself which I was able to do. He finally came out and asked if he could help and when I started to explain my (first) project, and asked him about some of the custom colours he started yelling at me that if I wasn’t going to buy the paint from him, he wasn’t going to let me look at his custom colours that were displayed on the wall. I said I understand what you’re saying and you don’t need to yell at which point he turned around told me to take my paint chips and leave! I was stunned to say the least, this guy is clearly in the wrong business he only wants to sell paint but is NOT interested in helping customers. I will be more than happy to go to any other Benjamin Moore paint store (fairview Street is lovely!) and will do my best in the meantime to spread the word letting everyone know to STAY AWAY from the Benjamin Moore location at Upper Middle and Walker’s Line! I noticed most of the positive reviews for this location were from 4+ years ago, maybe he should’ve closed up shop back then and left on a high note lol Update to reply based on the owner Peter’s response: Peter, if you had taken a moment to ask me a single question about my project, I would have told you that the paint chips for the siding was only ONE small portion of the project. We just purchased a mid-century modern home and need to repaint the entire interior. I would have loved to look closer at the options, and consult with you but you made me so uncomfortable and jumped to such a quick conclusion that I was just there for your paint chips and not to buy paint…eventually. Since you’ve owned that paint store for 24 years, you must realize that 99% of people must first select chips before they buy paint.. Most people don’t come in instantly ready to purchase $100+ per gallon paint, without having brought paint chips home first. I would assume it would be customary that you as the owner would expect to go through the evidently painful and unacceptable process of actually speaking to customers, providing expertise, etc.and allowing them to take paint chips home to compare in their own homes, lighting, etc. not simply demanding that if they’re not buying paint on site, they need to leave. But you know what they say about people who assume lol, so it’s evidently my mistake! I love Benjamin Moore paint and have used it in every house I’ve owned. Your store happens to be the closest one to my new home but I will drive as far as I need to in order to avoid your store. Have a lovely day yourself :)
What kind of a paint store, especially carrying the reputable name ‘BM’, doesn’t open on Saturdays? Weird! I’ll give my business to the Fairview street location—more accessible and far more friendly and helpful
Amazing team at the place. Peter is an expert and he guides the novices like me in the right way to choose the paint for our dream home. It was very kind of him to give us a paint replacement when it fell from my hand. Also, he walked with us and washed the paint on the driveway. Felt very touched by gesture. Thank you Peter !!!
Awful customer service provided by Peter. In all of my years of being a painting contractor, I have never been treated so poorly by a store owner. I walked in the store asking for a colour chip that my client asked for, he refused and told me I had to buy the paint instead (with a contractors discount). I told him all I need was a chip and he told me to get out and tell my client to come back to buy it for full price. Its sad to see this store owner giving BM this kind of reputation. Now I understand why this location is the lowest rated in Burlington. Its best to go to another BM location.
Good little store that offers great in store advice and support - with terrible hours of operation. Unless you’re independently wealthy and don’t need to work, you’ll need to take a few hours off to visit this store.
Fantastic store! They really know their products! Not sure why people have negative reviews - if you have a bad day don’t take it out in a local small business. I always get compliments on the colour choices in my home. And yes I did get a TON of help here. Highly recommended!
