Horribly depressing place. The $600 ferret for sale looked very sad and sick. They're social animals and need a companion. The birds were trying to chew their way out of the bars. Just heartbreaking to see.

Not too impressed with the customer service. Came in to buy a bird but they don't allow us to interact with them before deciding. How are we supposed to pick a bird if we can't interact with them?

Drove an hour to get to the Burlington location to purchase a parrot they wouldn't allow "outside pets" in either...even though she's a medical alert service dog.

Over 18 years ago, we bought a dog from this store — a dog who became my pride and joy, the most incredible, loving companion I could have asked for. I was incredibly lucky to have him by my side for so long. This dog was so special that his DNA is preserved in Texas. Sadly, he passed away this week. I thought it would be meaningful to return to the place where it all began, to grab some toys and support the store while reflecting on the wonderful memories. More than anything, I hoped to thank someone, even briefly, for being part of a journey that brought such joy into my life. Unfortunately, this visit was a mistake. The cashier — or perhaps the owner — was one of the most uninterested and cold individuals I’ve encountered in a customer-facing role. As I shared a personal story about a pet that changed my life, I was met with a vacant stare and an attitude that screamed he couldn’t care less if I was there or not. There wasn’t a shred of empathy or even basic decency. I spent $70, and he couldn’t even muster the bare minimum courtesy of a thank you. In hindsight, I wish I had walked out and taken my business anywhere else. RIP Freddy 2006-2025 I share this experience as a caution to others. After such a long connection to this store, it’s disheartening to know I won’t return or recommend it to anyone in the future. Edit. I got a response from the owner and so I did a bit more due-diligence. The owner is correct, this is not the store it was a unit or two two units over. I have a hunch I am being corrected on a technicality here as a lot has changed in the 18+ years since the dog was purchased. If anybody actually cares to read these reviews, use your own best judgment here and keep your expectations very low when shopping here as that's the only way you won't walk out disappointed.

Horrible customer service for an online order, my order got stolen and they refused to refund me even though Canada Post refunded them the shipping charges I paid for!!!

The family who owns this store is very nice, however I am not a fan of how the animals (specifically all the birds) are kept. I live in the area and used to work in the pet industry for over a decade, with most of my focus spent on birds dogs and small animals. So with the birds-are their cages clean, yes but PLEASE put some toys in for the birds- even the large scarlet macaws have only one toy- it is not enough! Also, there are too many conures in one space (especially since they have no toys to play with). I have asked why there arent any toys in the cage and the response was that the birds dont stay long enough- I know for a fact that a lot of the conures have been there for months. Birds are intelligent and need to stay occupied- and not by pulling out each others feathers because they have nothing else to do. There isnt a huge bird market in Burlington so I would strongly suggest not having so many small parrots- maybe your other store in Mississauga would move them quicker? One time my daughter asked to hold one of the bunnies and she was told by the assistant manager that she couldnt because she would give the bunny germs- I understand kids asking to hold animals all the time is annoying but just say something like not right now and not a bold face lie- its better the animals be socialized. Anyways, very nice family but please start taking care of your birds.

very helpful and knowledgable staff. family owned with lots of critters, birds, fish and reptiles. this is the place to go if you want to bring a pet into your home and know you are making the right choice.

One of the best pet store. Neat, clean and very well organized with knowledgeable staff. Their pet village is a unique and beautiful concept. Will definitely recommend to pet lovers.

I was pleasantly surprised with this shop as the location appears small with all sorts of pets advertised. However once you walk in you can see all the serious organization and thought that went into this location. I was surprised to find a lot of items you don't see at bigger pet stores, and for fantastic prices!! (Fish caves for under $10, wow!)Not to mention, the reptile section is kept up beautifully with all tanks decorated and very natural, keeping their pets super happy :) excited to show this gem to my other pet loving friends! If I could rate higher I definitely would.

Visited on Sunday and the owner was incredible. My 5 year old loves bunnies but sadly we cannot have one due to my husband's allergies. She took out the baby bunnies and allowed my daughter to hold them and play with them. She was so helpful and invited us back any time. Talk about customer service! Highly recommend!
