Great service! I had an emergency repair needed and the staff although very busy were awesome and managed to fit me in. Thanks so much you save the day!
I did a brake inspection here. They told me I had to change my brakes and quoted me $1700. The labor alone was around $450 and the rest were supposedly parts. I took my car to another auto body shop and showed them the exact quote they gave me. Got my brakes changed there for $750. Turns out, Master Mechanic was upselling the parts, not just selling the labor! They were making a profit off the parts, and saying that “awh it’s just the cost of the parts, that’s how much they cost.” Obviously, that is NOT how much they actually cost. I can’t believe I would have paid $1000 more if I believed them and didn’t check with another shop. I hate sleazy greedy places like this.
The quality of work done here is ok, but you will pay much more than you need to. They quoted me $4500 worth of work on a car that only needed 1 bearing changed. Stating that I had wobbly axles, torn control rod bushings and worn out struts, but after getting a second opinion with someone I know personally I was told the car needs 1 bearing changed and otherwise it's safe to drive. So $4500 dropped down to about $550. Just 1 bearing changed at master mechanic was $1100.00... You do the math. Now, one could argue that if I wanted my car in perfect pristine condition, yes, I could change the axles, struts and control rods but it's a 15 year old Corolla and not a race car. A good mechanic can get you back on the road safely without changing things that don't need to be changed. I'm not sure if master mechanic is just so busy they can charge higher prices since they are right next to the highway, or if they just didn't want to work on my car and quoted me a very high price as a sort of roll of the dice. Either way I'm saving thousands by finding a mechanic that isn't trying to take food off my table just because I'm not super familiar with automotive suspension work. Shop around, do your homework, you won't regret it.
Car was running rough and was told I need coil pack and plugs. 600 dollars. Ok. It was ok for a few months. Then started to run rough again after a few months. Went to another garage and was told master mechanic only replaces one coil because they could tell by the difference in looks. 600 for one coil and plugs grrrrr. Then I went again there and was told I need catalytic converter and I got it replaced at another shop and it did nothing. 1100 later grrrr. Finally Midas fixed my car just by replacing one coil that I thought was done initially by master mechanic. And the guy at the desk. So rude. I will never ever walk in that place again. Bunch of scammers.
I have been to this location a couple of times. I would recommended this shop for its professionalism and willingness to help solve the problem. I have been to another Master Mechanic where I was discriminated and harmed. As a woman, I felt safety and trust with these guys, especially in this world.
Really helpful mechanic. The owner? had their phone rerouted to their phone and despite being on vacation took a little bit of time to listen to our car trouble and confirm that many mechanics shops won't be open until January. They were also even able to suggest a probable cause and whom to go to. Definitely a great help and informative.
