I first met the fry guy 8 years ago at the bear creek gas station and his poutines were amazing, im glad im even closer to the business now. Went today and his poutines are still the best ive ever had hands down, he uses beef talow now to fry the fries nice dude too ill be back(terminator voice)
"Long strings of goodness" .. ok... lol We definitely won't be supporting a disgruntled business owner who can't take constructive feedback. Tu peux ben avoir des bonne frites mais ton attitude en dit long... ca aurait été la dernière fois pour nous surtout après avoir lu d'autres commentaires. Went recently and noticed a hike in price Just a few months ago (less than 3 months) it was 12.99 for a large poutine vs now 14.99. That's crazy ...and for the extra 1 (one) ...? slice of bacon was 2$ ... honestly fries are absolutely amazing probably the best around and so is the gravy but the price hike is crazy for a food truck. Edit... I believe the 14.99 was with the bacon so I was wrong on the price increase. Not a fan of the shredded cheese mixed with curds. If you say you're serving Quebec poutine please go to any belle province in Qc who uses fresh fries and you won't see shredded cheese on any poutine. I am from Qc and have never seen that before...my guess it keeps the costs down. Also the staff should really wear gloves. They use an ice cream scoop for curds but then they use hands to top it up and spread around evenly ... that threw me off a little and i wasn't quite pleased that they'd use their hands without gloves to handle food.
Great food made with care. Owner is pretty cool.... Kinda like the soup N from Seinfeld but nicer and not as loud.... Lol I respect how he wants orders taken and how he wants people to just use their heads and not be so clueless... Lol
The server was not friendly. The servings were small. The fries were not bad but nothing special. Soggy not crispy. There were a lot of end pieces that were overcooked. The menu is limited. We won’t be back.
I've been enjoying this place for years, but my last visit irritated me. I ordered 2 large fries and 1 medium fries, when the order was ready the person yelled out 2 medium and 1 large and handed me the bag. At that point I mentioned that I paid for 2 large and 1 medium, I was told twice that my order is correct. When I I got to my car and checked, it was infact 2 mediums and 1 large... All in all the food was great as always, but if a customer mentions that his order is incorrect twice, maybe just take the time to double check the order as it wasn't busy and there was time to check. The fact that I tipped when paying for my incorrect order is even more irritating.
I’m visiting the province and the poutine truck is a 5 minute walk away from where I’m staying. Hands down the best poutine I’ve had in years!! I am from the East Coast of Canada and was actually craving Newfie Poutine with cheese curds but this was soooooo good even without the stuffing!!
French fry guy is rude!! Cussed me out for using visa instead of debit. Which apparently cost him a couple bucks.. then started swearing at me.. won't be back just because of this interaction. After reading some reviews I can see the exact same thing happened a few days ago to someone else. So clearly this guy has anger issues and hasn't learned his lesson. Making sure to tell all my friends and family to not go back here. Which is unfortunate because I used to praise and promote this place like crazy to everyone.
