DO NOT SHOP HERE! I would give this review a zero stars if I could. I had one of the most disrespectful retail experiences I've ever encountered at the Gerry Weber store in Burlington. I was treated with blatant rudeness and condescension by the woman who claimed to be the store owner. - She refused to tell me her name and got close to my face demanding to know mine. Rather than being welcomed or helped, I was met with dismissive and unkind behaviour that left me feeling deeply disrespected. To make matters worse, the tone and manner of the interaction felt discriminatory and targeted, which made the experience not only uncomfortable but genuinely disturbing. No customer should ever be spoken to in this way—especially in a retail environment where courtesy and professionalism should be a standard. This woman was demeaning, condescending, belittling, classist, and discriminatory. - Her behaviour was not only unprofessional, but also deeply offensive and unprofessional. I walked into this store hoping to support a local business and left feeling devalued and shaken. I would caution others, especially those from marginalized communities, to think twice before shopping here.
I have never been, and I never will! I was recently at a bridal shower for my soon to be sister-in-law. While opening her presents, she stopped in order to relay a story. Apparently, wishing to purchase a new blouse for the shower, she stopped at Gerry's on the way home from work. She was still in her work clothes and hair up in a ponytail. The staff member there greeted her with an icy stare and after a very short conversation, she was told that perhaps she would be better off checking out Winner's. Yes, she pulled a "pretty woman" on her! She was judged by what she was wearing. This salesperson not only insulted her, but twenty women at the shower were also pretty pissed off about how our loved one was treated. The salesperson not only alienated her, but no one at that shower would ever step in to that establishment ever again. Each of those women will most certainly retell that story to more of their friends. In these political times of shop local and buy Canadian, you would think that you might want to encourage people into your shop, and not chase them away! After a quick Google search, I now understand that this was not just a one time thing, but a repeat offense that needs to be corrected!
The quality of the clothes is great but the sales woman is such a nasty person. She doesn’t not make anyone feel welcome. Perhaps she was understaffed but speaking with other customers, their experience was the same, rude and unhelpful. Gerry Weber you lost another loyal customer.
The store manager has become my professional dresser. She knows exactly what looks good on me and doesn’t pressure me into buying something that I don’t like. The fabrics and designs are top quality.
I rarely provide reviews either good or bad however the service with Jacki at Jerry Weber Burlington is simply amazing!!! Jacki is very knowledgeable about the product line, she goes above and beyond to get the sizes and works very hard to assist while in store.Jacki ensures that you feel like a valued customer which is why I only shop with her-she is in the store and Monday and Wednesday.Ask for Jacki-she is very a very professional , positive, dedicated sales associate and I am certain that she will quickly develop a loyal customer base.
As soon as I left GW I opened google to read the reviews to see if my experience was a one off or a repeat offence. Bingo! Seems like many of us have the same customer service treatment by the the manager. The vibe in the store is so off - do you want me here? And it seems as though, since the reviews validate my experience - no one really cares what's going on there. While I would not want anyone to be replaced it is possible to change the feeling that one is not wanted. For instant - when I'm looking through jeans let me look same with t-shirts etc. I know it's a pain to fold but one's gotta do what one's gotta do.' Also, can you put a mirror in the change room? I'm not coming out to show the grumpy sales manager anything!! Nice clothes though, last time I bought a jean jacket that I love, but the world is a rough place right now and shopping should be an escape, can you show us little love? Come on you can do it!!!!
Do not recommend this place to anyone. My wife was told not to touch the clothes in the store because she could possibly not afford it. So their employees literally decide what you can afford and what not.
